There’s a comment I heard from a business consultant recently. It really cut to my core.
It’s a mega truth I cannot shake.
I didn’t want it to be true.
But I know it is.
And damn it – owning this truth has been moving me to take bigger leaps and clean up more than ever lately…which is why I want to share it with you.
Ready for it?
Here you go:
“Your business is functioning exactly as it’s designed to.”
So all the…
- chaos you may be feeling
- disorganization with your systems and files
- marketing inconsistencies
- fear holding you back from taking action and saying what you really think
- low service prices and few clients
- sales conversations not converting
- refusal to own a niche (even if it’s “good enough for now”)
- money drama
- feelings of confinement, loneliness and disconnection
- last minute tasks constantly putting pressure on you
- hiding out and blending in
- use to making decisions in isolation and not getting feedback
- wasting time and energy comparing yourself to other coaches
- feeling stuck
etc…
All of this functionality is by design. Your design.
Deep breathe. I know that wasn’t easy to soak in.
This is actually good news. Because anything you design, you can redesign.
If your business is functioning at an optimal level or a level you feel great about. Then no redesign is necessary.
But if you feel something is “off.” Then it’s time to redesign your business exactly as you want it to look, feel and function.
Keep the redesign simple sensitive soul.
Simple is where you excel.
P.S. I refused to own this statement throwing out every reason (errr…excuse) I could come up with…do any of these sound familiar? 1) yes, but I take care of my 2-year-old full-time, 2) yes, but I know where everything is so who cares if it’s not fully optimized, 3) yes, but I have a large extended family going through difficult times and they need me, 4) yes, but I want to actually enjoy the summer months, 5) yes, but I don’t have a huge team supporting me, etc…
Ownership of your truth isn’t easy. I get it. But it is transformative.
